The current survey aims to give a snapshot of the experience of a specific group of high school students, namely lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex (LGBTI) students. This is the target group of Bilitis Resource Center Foundation and Single Step Foundation, the coordinators of the survey, as both organizations are focused on providing support to, and working with, LGBTI youth in Bulgaria. This is the first such national quantitative survey conducted in Bulgaria, covering all 28 regions of the country, with a clear goal of examining the experiences of these students in high school, with regard to safety, as well as the attitudes of both their peers and school staff.
