Protecting and defending the rights of victims of anti-LGBT hate crimes: Innovative paths through restorative justice
Aims
The overall aim of the project “Let’sGoByTalking”, funded by European Union’s Justice Progremme (2014-2020) is to research and promote the application of restorative justice in cases ot anti-LGBT hate crimes. The project will research the attitudes among victims and professionals in the field, as well as the legislation and restorative justice programs in the EU, aiming to enhance victims’ rights.
Activities
– Transnational analysis on the legislation, as well as research of the perspective of victims of anti-LGBTI hate crimes and key professionals
– Workshops to exchange experiences and promote cooperation between LGBTI organizations, institutions and professionals
– Identification of training needs and development of training for trainers on implementing restorative justice in cases of anti-LGBTI hate crimes
– Awareness-raising and dissemination activities to inform policy makers, criminal justice professionals, , restorative justice professionals and LGBTI organizations on the efficiency of restorative justice in cases of anti-LGBTI hate crimes.
