Aims

The overall aim of the Bring-In project, funded by the European Union’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, is to promote the equality of intersex people in Greece, Hungary, UK and Bulgaria, by educating social and healthcare professionals on how to recognize, prevent and combat discrimination towards intersex people, while raising public awareness and advocating for actions to combat the human rights violations intersex people face.

Activities

  • Аnalysis of the current situation of intersex people: research on the profile of the intersex population in the four countries, prevalence of intersex discrimination with emphasis on social and healthcare settings and the level of protection of intersex people’s human rights.
  • Set-up of a transnational Working Group on Intersex Equality Policy and Practice.
  • Development of a training programme including training curriculum on intersex equality and Training of Trainers programme aimed at preparing local trainers to deliver
  • Development of policy recommendations on intersex equality, relevant to national and EU level.
  • Development of an Interactive Online Learning Resource Platform on Intersex Equality, containing a wide range of resources such as online tests, games, quizzes and courses, that professionals, stakeholders and the general public will be able to refer to, use and further disseminate
