Domestic violence and dating violence against lesbian, bisexual and transgender women are still poorly discussed within LGBTI communities themselves, and institutions responsible for investigating reports or providing support to victims of such violence have very limited experience in dealing with LBT women.
The qualitative research conducted within the Bleeding Love project is the first of its kind in Bulgaria.
Bilitis conducted 40 interviews with lesbian, bisexual, pansexual and transgender women, all survivors of various types of violence, such as physical, psychological, economic, verbal and sexual abuse by their partners.
